‘These rooms are the soul of the house, the inner self and whilst they are discarded and cluttered, in need of repair they hold the secrets of the past to be captured by the present. It is a house where functionality is underlined by a need for repair and organisation; yet overgrown with objects, and so here I am placing the finery against the cogs. I am forever fascinated by locked doors and the stories that lie behind a special possession, whose footsteps am I walking in as I look ‘behind the scenes’, passing the ordered, formal and ornate to walk into the blissfully quiet and calm of the dust laden rooms, objects strewn randomly and tagged so that one day they too will have their story heard.’
